Drywall Repair on Long Island

Drywall repair fixes holes, cracks, water damage, popped nails, and failed seams, then blends the patch into the surrounding wall with matching texture and paint. A doorknob hole is usually a one-visit fix; ceiling water damage takes two visits so compound can dry between coats.

Problems this solves

  • Doorknob and furniture-impact holes
  • Settlement cracks over doors and windows
  • Water stains and sagging ceiling board from past leaks
  • Popped nails and screws telegraphing through paint
  • Tape seams lifting along ceilings and corners

What’s included

  • Patch and blend repairs from nail holes up to full sheets
  • Cut-out and replacement of water-damaged board
  • Corner bead repair on damaged outside corners
  • Skim coating uneven or previously patched walls
  • Texture matching, including knockdown and orange peel
  • Primer and paint blending so repairs disappear

Signs you may need this

  • Cracks that return after being painted over
  • Brown or yellow ceiling stains, even if dry now
  • A soft or bulging spot in the ceiling
  • Seams becoming visible in raking light

How we approach the work

Small holes get a mesh or California patch; anything bigger gets cut back to studs, backed, and re-boarded. We use setting-type compound for repairs so coats cure predictably, then feather 8 to 12 inches beyond the patch before priming.

What affects scope and price

We do not publish flat prices because these factors genuinely change the work. The estimate itemizes them for your project.

  • Patch size and count (many small patches often beat one large one)
  • Ceiling work versus wall work
  • Texture matching complexity
  • Whether the source leak is fixed (we will not close up an active leak)

Drywall Repair questions

Repair or replace the whole wall?

Repair, in most cases. Replacement makes sense when board is saturated, moldy, or crumbling across a large area. See our guide on repairing versus replacing drywall for the specifics.

Will the patch be visible?

Not if it is done right. The keys are feathering compound well past the patch, matching texture, and painting corner to corner rather than spot-touching a wall with aged paint.

Can you fix drywall the same visit you find a leak?

We patch only after the leak is fixed and the cavity is dry. Sealing wet framing in is how mold problems start. We can often handle the minor plumbing fix in the same booking.
