About Us

The Crew Behind Blue Whale Handyman

A Huntington-based repair and renovation crew built on the least glamorous virtues in the trades: showing up, working clean, and standing behind the finish.

Meet Ivan

Ivan is the owner and lead craftsman of Blue Whale Handyman, with more than twenty years of hands-on repair and renovation experience. He started the business around a simple observation: Long Island homeowners could find contractors for big jobs and nobody reliable for everything else, the accumulating list of repairs, installations, and improvements that keep a house working.

You will meet him at the estimate and see him on the job. Customers describe the same person in review after review: a good listener who offers ideas and honest feedback, shows up when he says he will, and checks the work with you before calling anything finished. One customer put it simply: “when they say they are coming, they come.”

The crew, including Julian, works to the same standard. The name customers thank in reviews is usually more than one.

How we work

  • Honest scope. Repair gets recommended where repair is right. Licensed-trade work gets named as licensed-trade work. We would rather lose a job than invent one.
  • Grouped visits. We are built for the list, not the single task. Bundling repairs into one visit is how customers get the most from us.
  • Clean work. Floors covered, dust contained, debris hauled. "Neat" and "tidy" recur in our reviews because it is a rule, not a mood.
  • Finish checked with you. The job ends with a walkthrough, and we make it right if something is not to your liking.

Credentials, plainly

  • · Licensed and insured
  • · 20+ years of repair and renovation experience
  • · 5.0 stars across 30 Google reviews, every one real and linked on our reviews page
  • · Payments: all major credit cards, debit, paypal, venmo, zelle, crypto

Plumbing, electrical, and HVAC work beyond minor repairs (a leaky faucet, a light switch, a filter change) requires a licensed trade professional in New York. We handle the small stuff, tell you plainly when a job needs a licensed plumber or electrician, and can coordinate with one.
